The Executive Director

Anne Whattoff is the Executive Director of PACEM. Ms. Whattoff received her B.A. in Music from San Diego State University where she went on to complete a year of post-graduate work in Ethnomusicology. She holds a California Teaching Credential in Music from National University.

Over the past twelve years, Ms. Whattoff has amassed extensive experience directing and accompanying choirs. She was Accompanist and Assistant Director for Mary, Star of the Sea; Assistant Director for SDSU Concert Choir under the direction of Dr. Frank Almond; the Chorus Director for the SDSU Opera Theatre; and the Director of the SDSU University Women's Chorus. She taught Music Appreciation for Education American University. For four and a half years, Ms. Whattoff was the choir director at West Hills High School, a program with five choirs including Concert Choir, Jazz, and Chamber Ensembles. Every year, her touring groups collaborated with the Drama and Instrumental music programs to put on a fully orchestrated show under her musical direction. This past year she served as Director of the San Diego Children’s Choir in which she worked with children of various age groups, from first grade up through high school.  Last season, with PACEM’s help, SDCC joined with St. Paul’s Boy and Girl choirs to perform Benjamin Britten’s Noye’s Fludde, under the direction of Steven Sturk. This colorful children’s opera involved cast of over one hundred, and was a special opportunity to expose young singers to professional vocalists and orchestra, and to a truly great work.

Ms. Whattoff is a professional soprano who currently performs with the Cathedral Choir and Schola for St. Paul's Cathedral under the direction of Martin Green, and the Bach Collegium of San Diego under the direction of Ruben Valenzuela.
